Truth

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.
Trust in the LORD forever. For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.

Is Abortion an Important Issue?

I've heard the argument that abortion should not be the most important issue affecting a person's vote.

I just found this link to the candidate's stances, and after watching it, I find it hard to deny that Barack Obama finds it to be an important issue. Note the "Planned Parenthood" banners. Note his own words on his priority in the first day of office.

This is sobering.

This is not just an artificial issue drummed up by conservatives. This is obviously an important issue to both sides.

Watch this. Listen to the candidates' own words. Shut your eyes to the photos if you think they are too religious...just listen to the candidates' own words.

Resignation

The one true way of dying to self is the way of patience, meekness, humility, and resignation to God.
-- Andrew Murray

Why is resignation to God so difficult?
I am aware that He loves me.
I am aware that He's smarter than me. And wiser.
I am aware that He knows all, and that He never makes a mistake.
I am aware that He can see a much larger picture than I can.
And yet
I don't quite trust Him.
Why is that?

Katie's Housekeeping Mission Statement

I'm sorry to say that I do not know who Katie is, but I read this in comments at "Organizng Junkie," and, I love it.

My Housekeeping Mission Statement

I want my home to be a sanctuary from the world. I want to
always honor God by being a good steward of the many things He has blessed me with - material things as well as time. To this end, I will strive to maintain enough order so that I do not waste my time searching for misplaced items. I will bless others
with the things that I do not use, need or love.
I will simplify my life in order to focus on the important things, my
relationship with God, my family and showing love to others. To do this I realize I must take care of my health by making good
lifestyle choices. I want my home to be useful to God by being welcoming, not a source of embarrassment to my family and others.

more glimmers of grace

God knows the whole story of your life because He is the Author of your biography. He knows the last chapter, and He thinks you are wonderful. ~~Jan Silvious

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. - Dorothy Nevill

Just read a great quote, in the business setting:

The only difference between where you are today, and where you'll be a year from today, are the books you read and the people you meet. – Charlie ‘Tremendous’ Jones
